
Summer is training season! A school guardian training exercise will take place at Umatilla Middle School on Wednesday, June 25, from 4–7 p.m. You may notice an increased law enforcement presence on campus during this time, but don't worry! This is a planned training session to help ensure our schools remain safe and secure for all students and staff when they return in August.


Tiger Pride Camp is our 6th grade orientation event on Friday, July 25th from 1-3PM. There are student and parent/guardian portions to this event that allow our incoming 6th graders , and their families, a chance to get familiar with our campus, academics, programs and faculty/staff prior to Meet the Teacher and school beginning. Schedules will not be available until Meet the Teacher on August 7th.

Are you still looking for a fun summer learning opportunity for your kids? The Healthcare Exploration Camp at Lake-Sumter State College still has spots available! Test retakes are being offered this summer to students who did not pass the Algebra I End of Course (EOC) exam or the Grade 10 FAST Reading exam, and to students who missed the Geometry, Biology, or U.S. History End of Course exams in the spring. Parents will receive specific dates and times on or before June 26.

The end of the school year is right around the corner, and it’s time to get those Chromebooks ready for return. Here’s what you need to know to make the process quick and smooth:
✅ What to Do Before You Turn In Your Device
Remove all stickers and decorations
➤ Don’t forget to clean off any sticky residue!
➤ A safe way to clean: use a slightly damp cloth (water only) — no chemicals or sprays!
➤ Check that your device is fully charged (100%)
➤ Turn in your charger
➤ Must include both parts: the brick and the cable!
➤ Report damage early
➤ If your device isn’t working or is damaged, turn it in now — don’t wait for collection day!
➤ Ask questions?

Celebrate Literacy Week is designed to raise awareness about the importance of reading and to inspire our students and families to make reading part of their daily routines.
